There are plenty of guys out there without getting involved with one that is (or was) dating your friend. A guy that will leave a girl for her good friend is a jerk and he’ll do the same thing to you. You can tell a lot about a guy from how he treated the women that he went our with before you.

be there for your friend, not there for your friend’s bf
tell your friend what he told you he liked you, if you don’t want to do that, stay AWAY from him.
if a guy is dating a girl and he tells another girl he likes then, what makes you think that he wouldn’t do that to you…?
he is a player, your friend should get a better guy and YOU SHOULD STAY AWAY FROM HIM.
