The question at hand...

Is he in love/falling in love? December 12th, 2009

I’ve been in a few long term relationships before and normally its falling right in love with the guy early on, and then it growing into something more.. The guy I’m currently with (it’s been 4 months) has never been in a long term relationship and apparently has only told one girl he loved them, and said he didn’t really feel that way about her. He’s very hard to read. Anyways, more recently he’s started to call me “love” and even has said a few times “my love” in front of his family… Is he starting to fall for me or is in love with me? Is this normal for guys?

4 months is too early. If he has previous records of not being expressive about love, you need to get to know him longer before you conclude anything.

I hope he is genuinely in love with you….otherwise it can only be “lip-service” on his part and you are looking “too deep” into his words.

I also agree that it’s too early to know yet.

Sounds like your guy is a slow mover (like myself). Don’t take that to mean he doesn’t have feelings for you, more so it takes him a while to realise how he actually feels as this may not happen to him so often.

His use of the word love could be a way of leading up to saying the real thing when he feels the time is right.

The most important thing is being able to have an open and honest conversation about things. If he doesn’t feel pressure he’s more likely to open up to you.

That’s how it would be with me anyway. I hope this helps.
