Course you might just be getting more insight into how I think than that of all girls, but some ideas carry over. I definitely don't claim to speak for everyone, lol.. too much responsibility.

We like guys or start to like guys that we know like us, happens. You're on her radar.

If we're not a match then you'll get resistance, likely something on the no-compromise check-list. She probably won't tell you what it is that she doesn't like, she may even actually like you. We really do want to find a guy that is just so awesome and sweet (sweetness can trump looks). There's just other things we look for too, everyone's list is a little different, can equal or outweigh the instant attraction thing. Change that one thing and you've got her.

We're stubborn. If a girl tells you that she's not stubborn, she's into you or too polite. And, sweetness can totally win a girl over. Serious, usually it's the only thing that's missing. We're so used to the average guy, you need to tip things in your favor. Opening doors, help/guide, do the chivalry-type thing, it's a girl's dream. Does wonders. We know when you're fake too, lol. When it's part of your character, major plus. You can build to be like that too, don't change anything else about you.

Time changes things. A well place comment that touches her heart and she'll secretly love you. A quality of character, gets the attention in the right way. Best when given in a matter-of-fact way. Don't ever think that she'll forget that you were into her, we don't forget. Likely she'll track how you treat her, you're on her radar, not kidding.

Find your strength and offer it, a something that is missing for her, something that you can fill as just a friend. She'll keep coming back (hits her check-list in the right way), can tip things in your favor and help see you in a different light, and that's what you want. She has to find that thing that says "he's a keeper".

A comment on jealousy. Not all girls get jealous and secretly want you or wonder why/what-went-wrong? when you try that tactic.
Some, like me, would drop you instantly into "just friends" category and you would stay there a really, really long time. Just letting you know.

She's probably sorting her feelings right now, we need time to digest it too. Do something positive in your life, activities, she'll totally notice. Don't go for overboard showy, unless that's your character in general.

Don't forget to socialize, she'll see it too. Again, you're definitely on her radar now. Expand the social circle, we notice. Give us enough time and our feelings change, sometimes we need to get used to the idea of you, but like I said we eventually do end up liking a guy that likes us because we know he likes us, just have to find that thing that hooks her to you, then check back later, feelings change.
